HELENA, Montana – Today, President Trump released final rules rolling back auto emission standards in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic despite calls to pause major public policy during the ongoing crisis.
In response, Western Values Project Director Jayson O’Neill released the following statement:
“Not to be distracted by a global pandemic that is now killing hundreds of Americans each day, President Trump is unleashing what may end up being the largest amount of carbon pollution in world history today. Trump’s actions jeopardize human health and the environment when they’re already at historic risk.”
President Trump and his administration have ignored calls for pause and continued to plow forward with their deregulatory agenda during this crisis. Career federal employees have described a relentless work atmosphere trying to advance this administration’s corrupt agenda.
