1.You may need special permission to record, monitor, or observe a protest.
2.Protest activities do not require prior authorization.
3.The right to protest is enshrined in international law.
4.Violent actions of individuals means the entire protest should be put to an end.
Is there a right way to police a protest?Some seem to think it involves riot gear, tear gas, water cannons, rubber bullets…Or, if you’re not a big fan of any of the above, you might think it means the absence of police altogether. In fact, human rights law requires a much better role for law enforcement.
