WASHINGTON – Following reports that House Democrats will introduce articles of impeachment against Donald Trump next week, and ahead of the Democratic Caucus meeting today, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge released the following statement:
“Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to our democracy—and he cannot be allowed to remain in office for even 12 more days. Congress must immediately hold Trump accountable for inciting a violent insurrection to undermine our democracy.
“We call on Speaker Pelosi to reconvene the House of Representatives and vote on articles of impeachment immediately.”
Stand Up America will drive calls today to the offices of every U.S. representative urging them to pressure House leadership to reconvene the chamber to immediately vote to impeach Trump.
In 2019 and 2020, the group was one of the leading grassroots organizations pressuring Congress to impeach and remove Donald Trump from office, driving more than 375,000 constituent calls to Congress.
