The family of the murdered Afghan TV journalist Malala Maiwand have spoken to RFE/RL about her death. Maiwand and her driver, Mohammad Tahir, were killed in December 2020 in the city of Jalalabad outside Maiwand’s family home. Her sister, Fatima Hilal, recalls hearing gunfire and going to the door.
