Police in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, stormed the offices of the main opposition party and arrested its leader, Nika Melia, early in the morning of February 23. The raid, in which police used pepper spray, came days after the Georgian prime minister resigned after disagreeing with a court order to detain Melia.
