One of the images is of Bangkok Airport
Alt News performed a reverse image search on all the images and found that the first image is not from Chennai but Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. Similar photos of the airport can be found on several stock photo websites.
The following is a comparison between the MoCA image and the one on Alamy which establishes that both show the same airport.
- Identical ceiling and chandelier
- Refreshment stalls at the identical location
- Three identical information displays/boards between two conveyor belts
We found the image used by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on multiple websites like Flickr and PX Here with the false caption that the image shows Chennai airport.
To conclude, the Ministry of Civil Aviation shared an image of Bangkok Airport and passed it off as Chennai airport. Readers should note that the other two images (top right, bottom right) indeed show the Chennai Airport.
