He discusses simmering tensions in the region, where he says Israel’s “tough guy” approach is a failed military strategy that only generates “greater resistance a year or two down the road” from groups like Hezbollah and Hamas — who see themselves as defending themselves from an invading and occupying force in “the last anticolonial struggle in the world.”
