A 49-second clip is viral on social media where three women and two men can be seen engaging in a physical fight. Social media users are sharing this video claiming that it shows Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP and former chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women Swati Maliwal being beaten up at Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. It is also being claimed that she was punched and kicked, and the reason behind this fight was that Swati, Marlona (referring to AAP minister Atishi Marlena) and Sanjay (AAP leader Sanjay Singh) were all vying for the chief ministerial berth.
The video went viral against the backdrop of allegations of Kejriwal’s PA Bibhav Kumar misbehaving with Maliwal at the CM’s residence while she was waiting to meet the CM. On May 16, Maliwal filed a formal complaint with Delhi police.
X (formerly Twitter) user Chandresh shukla (@Chandreshukla89) tweeted the above-mentioned clip on May 14 with a caption in Hindi which can be translated to: “Scene from Delhi CM’s official residence Sheesh Mahal… You should also see how the fight took place in #DelhiCMResidence…”
The user also wrote, *This was bound to happen… the reason given is that Swati, Marlona, Sanjay, all want to become CM…”

We broke down the video into several keyframes and ran a reverse image search on some of them. This led us to a tweet from May 13 which carried the viral video and the following caption: “In Kaliyug, home, family, relationships, all are useless, mind…?

Taking a cue from the above tweet, we ran a relevant keyword search which led us to a Facebook reel posted by Mirror Now that carried the viral video and in the caption it said that members of a family had got into a scuffle in the mediation room at Tis Hazari court where they had come to settle their scores.

The Quint reached out to a senior lawyer at the Tis Hazari court, who confirmed to them that the incident had taken place at the mediation centre of the court.
Hence, the claim that the viral clip shows the physical assault on Swati Maliwal by Arvind Kejriwal’s PA is false. The video is completely unrelated.
