A picture of Hungarian-American philanthropist and businessman George Soros with a woman has gone viral on social media with the claim that the woman is the daughter of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
This claim is viral on X, and includes a caption in Hindi which, when translated, reads: “The daughter of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India’s Congress Party government is in a compromising position with George Soros, who is working against Narendra Modi-ji in India. It is worth considering whether Manmohan Singh’s daughter has stooped so low in opposing the country.”

The claim is also viral on Facebook, with users sharing the same image and caption, and insinuating an association between George Soros and Congress.

We ran a reverse image search on the viral image. This led us to this article by the Guardian, from the year 2012, which reports on the engagement of George Soros, who was then 82-year-old, to a woman 42 years younger to him, identified as Tamiko Bolton.
We noticed that the image used in the viral claims is the same as the one in the 2012 article. A relevant keyword search yielded many other reports on the engagement of George Soros, to the woman captured with him in the viral posts, identified as Tamiko Bolton. (Links: 1, 2, 3)
Hence, it is clear that the viral photo does not show George Soros with the daughter of Dr. Manmohan Singh. The claim is baseless. The woman in the photo is Soros’s wife, Tamika Bolton.
